Opening Ceremony Assignment

1.My virtue was to be more attentive. A lot of people said that should've been my virtue because sometimes I do not pay attention in class.

2.I have held dear to my virtue simply by paying more attention in class.

3.My father simply taught me a little about life and about growing up during the "Walk of Faith."

4.I don't think my father or teacher said anything that resignated to me in particular.

5.The memories that stand out from the event are the "Walk of Faith" and the part where we ate because I took some pictures of some of the people that were there.

New Teacher Essay

One thing that I want you to know about me is that I enjoy learning. I hope to learn as much as I possibly can in the future and not only make a lot of money, but to set a positive example for black people as well. A lot of the time when people of different races think of black people, they think of ignorence, disrespect, killing, drug dealing, etc. If any foreign or caucasian people see me as a doctor or lawyer then they might not think about all black people being so bad.

Another thing I would like for you to know about me is that I would prefer to have a serious teacher. I don't want to be taught by a teacher who lets their students get the best of them. If a student misbehaves, give them a detention or put them out of your class. There are some students who will dislike you for punishing them, but you should just ignore them. Besides, if they are the ones who are misbehaving, then they shouldn't get mad at you for what they did.

The last thing I would like you to know about me is that I don't like getting a lot of homework. I don't see the point of a whole lot of homework. The whole purpose of homework is to see if a student understands what they have learned and for the students to complete what they might not have been able to complete on class. So why give them a whole lot when you can just give them a little bit. Its not like you can't complete the rest of the homework tomorrow.

Those are the things that I want you to know about me. I hope you have benefitted from this essay and that this can help you be a better teacher. I also hope you enjoy your time at New Media Technology Charter School!

Big Poppa By Notorious B.I.G

Big Poppa (Clean) - Biggie Smalls

[Chorus]

(I love it when you call me Big Pop-pa)
Throw yah hands in the aya if you'se a true playa

(I love it when you call me Big Pop-pa)
To the homies gettin' money playin n****s like dummies

(I love it when you call me Big Pop-pa)
If you got a gun in your waist please don't shoot up the place.

Cuz I see some ladies tonight that should be having my ba-bay....ba-bay

This could have a negative influence, mainly on young people. The reason this chorus is a negative influence is because this could influence young people to sexually disrespect women, or have sex. The part where he says"Cuz I see some ladies tonight that should be having my baby...baby." after he says "Please don't shoot up the place" could influence underaged sex, sexual harassment, etc. It could also lead to pregnancy at a young age. Also, when he says "I see some girls tonight that should be having my baby", it's like he is disrespecting women because a woman wouldn't like to find out that you are having sex with other women if you are already having sex with them, which is how this can also lead to the disrespect of women.

21 Questions By 50 Cent

21 Questions - 50 Cent

[Chorus]

2x Girrrrrrrrl.
You seem to love me now.
Would you love me if I was down.
And out.
But you still have love for me.

Unlike Big Poppa, this chorus is not disrespecting women. In this chorus, 50 cent loves a woman, but he wants to know if the girl that he loves really loves him back for who he is, and not just because he is a rapper with a lot of money. Then he is saying that he believes that the girl will still have love for him if he was "down and out", meaning if he wasn't a famous rapper. Since he loves this women, he is not showing disrespect, or fake love towards her. This can teach young people that true love isn't just about sex and playing other girls, but it is deeper than that. We all know that 50 Cent is not the most positive rapper out there, but this song actually means something. I think that he had a girlfriend that meant a lot to him, when he made this song, but maybe she broke up with him, and he wanted to know if she really loved him back. However, he wanted to keep her name anonymous, which is the reason he kept saying "girl" instead of her name.

The oldest person in my family is Ira Norris. Ira was born in Richmond, Virginia and later moved to Philadelphia,PA. Ira worked as a landscaper and got his education in Southern Philadelphia. Ira Norris was a very quiet, and friendly man during his time. He didn't socialize a lot and was often at his home. In 1973, Ira died, but even though I never got to meet him, I will remember him for as long as I live.
